The Texas Ranchers were one of the Founding 8 MLP teams in 2021. Founded by Austin Tech Banker Tim Klitch and oil and gas entrepreneur Bryan Sheffield, the Ranchers had two strong finishes in the 2022 season, winning the Newport event and placing 3rd in Columbus. The Ranchers became crowd favorites at the inaugural event, debuting a middle school cheer squad (using paddles instead of pom poms) to lead the crowd in team cheers.  With a partnership formed in the parking lot of their tennis club after a grueling singles match, Sheffield and Klitch have played many hours of tennis and pickleball with and against one another over their multi-year partnership.
