Tim Berry is the Founder, Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Pennybacker Capital. Since Pennybacker’s inception in 2006, Tim has led the firm’s execution of over $5.3 billion of real estate investments, across various strategies, sectors, and geographies. Tim provides overarching vision and directional leadership across all functional business units, orchestrates overall team building and advances the firm’s culture. With over 19 years of real estate investing experience, Tim leads investment strategy development, and is head of the Firm’s Investment Committee. Tim’s early career and professional training began as an investment banker at KPMG Corporate Finance. He later joined Qualcomm’s Strategic Investments Group and then worked as a restructuring advisor for Deloitte.
Tim completed his undergraduate studies in Accounting at the University of Houston. He earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds dual MBAs from Columbia Business School and London Business School.
Tim is a member of the McCombs School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, Pension Real Estate Association, Columbia Business School Real Estate Circle, Young Presidents’ Organization, and the Executive Council of the Real Estate Center at the University of Texas at Austin. He is engaged in numerous civic and charitable endeavors and is most passionate about family.
